My passion for reading and writing started when I was 14 years old. Back then, I used to write in a magazine published by my high school. My interest grew further in college. I specialized in Arabic language and literature, earning a masters and doctorate in Arabic Literature in 1990. I am currently a teacher of Arabic and literature. I am also a consultant in charge of revising Arabic material published in books, magazines and student dissertations.
I taught a variety of Arabic courses at multiple universities since 1995. I also taught beginner courses in Arabic for international students.
My teaching method is constantly evolving. I strive to make the learning more enjoyable for my students. I find simpler ways to explain topics so that students stay focused on the material. For example, I try sometimes using language that is correct standard Arabic, but also not too different from the locally spoken dialect. I also try to involve the students as much in the topic discussed by asking them questions on the material and giving them feedback.
