Hello, my name is Retty and I am from the beautiful island of Jamaica. I am a certified TEFL teacher with over seven years of experience teaching English as a second language. I am passionate about being an educator, my philosophy is: "Knowledge is power and every student is unique." Therefore, I tailor my lessons to meet all students level and needs. I am usually patient and jovial with my students. I love meeting, talking and sharing my knowledge and experiences with people. During my free time I enjoy watching movies, listening to music and travelling. My favorite movie genres are horror and comedy. I enjoy listening to Reggae music, R&B and Gospel. I have not been to many countries, but I would like to visit countries in Asia and Europe in the near future. Learning about different cultures is one of my interests and I have learnt a lot about many different cultures during my time as an ESL teacher. I am looking forward to meeting my students! I have taught children, adults and senior citizens. I have TEFL certification, a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management and a Diploma in Accounting and Management. My years of teaching has been a fulfilling experience. I have taught over 40,00 My lessons are interactive and fun! I give students the opportunity to speak and express themselves and ask lots of questions. Materials are unique to each student's level and needs. Materials are designed to engage students, for example there is a reading, pronunciation and practice section. I also use visual aids such as videos and objects to help them to understand better. In my first lesson I assess the students level so I can tailor the lesson more to meet their goals. Children can learn through songs, videos and a variety of practice materials. My goal is to provide high-quality teaching that will meet the needs of each student no matter their level.
