Hello! My name is Cynthia. I come from China and now live in Tokyo. Pleased to e-connect with everyone here!
I majored in Japanese language studies in college, and now a qualified PhD candidate in Tokyo. I adore the abundant life options in Tokyo so much, which means I can find any types of live concerts whenever I want to, and on the next day I will just pack up my stuff and indulge myself in fresh air in some beautiful national parks in nearby suburbs. What a balance!
I enjoy traveling to various countries and making friends from different cultural backgrounds, which helps me deepen my understandings of how to seek common ground while shelving differences with people.
I have also worked in Japan for a couple of years when I took a break from my PhD program. Therefore, I believe I can teach Japanese in quite a diverse way, no matter you want to learn in a conversational setting, business occasions or academic events.
I have 5+ years of online and offline teaching experience in part-time. Except for teaching the language of Japanese, I’ve been teaching Chinese Mandarin and English to Japanese locals (from toddlers to older citizens) as well. I’m JLPT/N1 certified, and my class varies with students’ ages, personalities and learning goals.
I am able to adjust my teaching and communication styles to yours, so that your time spent with me is truly enjoyable and worth it. Whether you are an absolute beginner or an advanced learner, please remember I am here for you. So you should never feel any pressure during my classes, any pressure to make mistakes, because you will never receive any judgment from me. You and I together make this platform one of the best learning environments in the world. So let’s keep it that way. And I cannot wait to see you in my class!
