Aushry Jimenez

I am a Co-Teacher for 12th grade English at a high school in my city and have been in the Education System for over five years. Although I teach English Language Arts and Literature, I have also been a Spanish to English Translator in the school system and in my previous jobs. I was born into a Spanish speaking home, but growing up in the United States, I became fluent in English at a very early age. This has been very beneficial for both me and my students. Along with my English 12th grade students, I work with ELS students in helping them understand the subject matter and translating instructions. I’ve earned a certification in Special Education from VCU. I am currently also pursuing another certification to specialize in teaching English as a foreign language. My students can expect to have a personalized learning experience because I cater my teaching methods to fit the needs of each student's learning styles. I have detailed lesson plans for beginner to advanced levels of language skills.
