Hello my name is Asheena. I am from South Africa. I am a very friendly, ambitious and compassionate individual with a love for traveling, exploring different cultures and cuisines, as well as nature such as gardening, camping or just simply spending time outdoors. In my spare time I enjoy watching a good movie or TV shows. I am a respectful person that treats others with kindness and consideration. I am someone that is patient with others and have the ability to remain calm and understanding in difficult situations as well as someone that loves to inspire other individuals by helping them reach their goals.
I have been privately involved in community based teaching, assisting students with their homework for the past 5 years. This type of teaching also involves working with students outside of traditional school settings such as after school programs and other activities. I have obtained a Early Childhood Development (ECD) Certificate, which has given me the opportunity to assist in a creche in various roles such as supervision of children, engaging them in age appropriate activities and implement curriculum activities designed to promote childrens learning, language, emotional and social development..
In my lessons I will create a structured and organized online learning environment with clear instructions to help my students stay focused and motivated. I will provide meaningful context to expand my students knowledge base.
I focus on communication encouraging students to practice grammar, pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading and writing. For some of my lessons I will make it fun but a learning experience for example
-Virtual Scavenger Hunt: Creating a list of items related to a specific theme or vocabulary set, have students search for them in their home.
-Role playing: Assign roles to students have them engage in scenes such as ordering food or booking a ticket.
-Digital Show and Tell: Have students share and describe interesting objects from their own lives and have them present it in the same manner they will be improving their speaking and learning skills.
These activities not only makes learning the English language enjoyable, but also provides improvement.
