How to Learn and Improve English Vocabularies for Non-Native English Students?

Why is learning English important?

In a world with lots of diverse groups of people, English is the only language to be used to communicate and unite us. Thus, many non-native English-speaking countries spend efforts to learn it. In fact, enumerable countries hired teachers who are capable of teaching English to their students in their schools. Some go to other countries and enroll in schools offering English classes. Some prefer online tutorials to learn English.

What is the simplest technique to improve English vocabulary?

Aside from the strategy above, the simplest technique to improve English vocabulary is the “one word a day listing” of unfamiliar terms encountered during classes or reading activities. The student’s chosen unfamiliar term will be written in a vocabulary notebook. To know the meaning of the term they list, they must use a dictionary based on their mother tongue or first language. They may use printed dictionaries, online or offline dictionaries, which can be downloaded from the internet. Then, they will write its translation beside the unfamiliar English term. In addition to this, they may list as many words as they can to learn more English terms independently or while studying or attending online classes.

Does it end up there?

Of course, they need to use words from their list in a sentence or in their daily conversation with someone so that they will not forget them. Practice makes him perfect. It entails great effort and determination to meet this goal. Otherwise, it will not work.

Is this technique effective?

It is a proven and tested technique because I, myself, used this technique since I was a high school student until I finished my degree. That is why I am introducing this also with my students now. I have been using this technique with my students in junior high school for almost ten years now from the public school where I presently teach.
