Start your day by checking your schedule and upcoming lessons.
Go to "Tutor studio" > "Dashboard"  
On the upper right side, you can see the time of the next lesson. Green slots in the schedule are booked for lessons.

🪄Keep your availability updated

Whenever your lifestyle changes, update your availability. Students are not keen on rescheduling too often.
Go to "Tutor studio" > "Private lessons settings" > Scroll down to find "Set your availability"

Please note that tutors are limited to setting up to 18 time slots per day. This restriction is in place to prevent 24/7 availability. If you attempt to select more than 18 time slots in a day, you will receive a corresponding warning message.

🪄Manage your vacation time

We all need a break sometimes 💆🏽. To get yours:
1. Go to "Tutor studio" > "Private lessons settings"
2. Find the "Enable vacation mode" switch
3. Enable vacation mode and choose the dates when you're unavailable. You can choose to enable your vacation indefinitely until you manually disable it.

You can disable your vacation mode at any moment.
⚠️ The lessons booked with you before enabling the vacation mode remain in the schedule and must be conducted.

🪄Manage last-minute bookings

Don't like it when a student books a lesson that you have to start in 3 minutes?
You can allow students to book lessons no later than 15 minutes before they start. Or even no later than 24 hours.

1. Go to "Tutor studio" > "Private lessons settings"
2. Find the "The latest lesson can be booked before its start" section and choose one of the options from the dropdown menu

🪄Manage your busy time:

1. Go to “Tutor studio” > “Private lessons settings”
2. Below “Enable vacation mode,” find the “Busy mode” switch
3. Turn the switch on

🪄Sync your Google and LiveXP calendars

By syncing, you can see LiveXP lessons in Google Calendar. Also, time slots taken in Google Calendar become unavailable in your LiveXP schedule.

🪄Turn email notifications on

We'll notify you about any new messages or lessons.
Go to "Tutor studio" > "Private lessons settings" > scroll down to the "Notifications" section

🪄 Cannot make it to the lesson?

Better let your student know in advance and reschedule it as soon as possible.
Hooray! Now students and tutors can send rescheduling requests directly to each other whenever they need.
Each lesson can be rescheduled up to 3 times, and this can be done before the lesson or even during the active lesson.
All the recipient of your request has to do is accept it or decline it. As simple as that!

• When you change your subscription plan on LiveXP, any remaining unused lessons in your current balance will be converted into a discount and applied to your first payment for the new plan. Already scheduled lessons are considered "used" and won’t be part of the discount.
• Once you switch, all unused lessons from your current subscription will be removed, and new lessons will be added to your balance according to the new plan.
• If the new plan costs less than your remaining unused lessons, make sure to schedule those lessons with any tutor before changing plans. In this case, your lesson balance should be zero before the switch.

To change your subscription plan on the WEB, follow these steps:

1. Go to your "My Progress" Dashboard.
2. Find the Subscription Plan section.
3. Click on the three dots menu and select Plan Change.

During the subscription change process, the price is automatically calculated and displayed on the screen, so you’ll see the total before confirming the payment.

Once you complete the payment for the new plan, your current subscription ends, and the lessons from the new plan are added to your balance. The number of new lessons depends on the plan you choose.

After you pay for the new Subscription plan, you get a payment confirmation email with Subscription details, next rebill date, and the next Subscription payment amount.

But what exactly is moderation, and when does it come into play?

What is Moderation?

Moderation, in essence, is the process of avoiding extremes and ensuring balance. When it comes to our platform, moderation of tutor profiles involves reviewing and adjusting profiles to meet our platform's requirements and standards.

This process helps us maintain a high level of professionalism and attractiveness for our users.

The Moderation Process

On LiveXP, the moderation process consists of two stages: pre-moderation and post-moderation.

All newly registered tutors must undergo pre-moderation after completing the onboarding wizard. Our moderation team will review their profiles, and tutors will receive updates about the status of their applications. This review period can take up to 3 days.

In addition, LiveXP also utilizes post-moderation, where profiles are reviewed even after they have been made visible to students. This dual approach ensures that tutors can start offering their services promptly while maintaining high-quality standards.

When Does Moderation Start?

Pre-moderation begins once a tutor has completed all the necessary steps to set up their profile. Once this is done, the application to become a tutor on LiveXP undergoes a review process by our moderation team to ensure it meets our platform's standards.

An application can be approved, rejected, or flagged for moderation to eliminate all discrepancies with our requirements and start teaching on LiveXP.

However, our commitment to maintaining quality extends beyond the initial registration process.

At any point, if we notice any changes to a tutor's profile that do not align with our platform's standards, we may reach out to address the issue promptly.

If a tutor's profile is flagged for moderation at any stage, they will receive an automated message from our Support team informing them of the situation, indicating particular areas of their profile that need to be reviewed and details about changes that need to be introduced. Additionally, tutors will see a "Profile needs updates" indicator on the Dashboard, signaling that their profile requires changes to align fully with our requirements.

Ensuring an attractive and professional profile is crucial for success on LiveXP. Your profile serves as your first impression to potential students and plays a significant role in their decision to book lessons with you. • Vocabulary. We understand the importance of remembering new words and phrases when learning a language! With the Vocabulary feature, you can save all the new words and phrases you come across during your 1-on-1 lessons!
• LiveXP Chat. Looking to communicate directly with your tutor during the active lesson? Simply type your message in the LiveXP Chat and receive real-time responses from your tutor!
• Files Section. The Files section allows you to easily drop necessary files to your tutor during your 1-on-1 sessions. After the lesson, all files are automatically saved in the LiveXP messenger, making it convenient for you to revisit them whenever you need to.
• Screen Sharing. Wanting to share something with your tutor during your lesson? Seamlessly do so using our screen sharing feature!

Factors that influence your Success Rate

1. The number of lessons you've completed in the past three months.
2. Failed lessons can have impact on your Rate of Success, so try to do your best to minimize the occurrence of such lessons and keep your Lesson Success Rate high:

• 🗓️ Maintain updated availability to prevent reschedulings and cancellations from becoming a tendency
• ☑️ Manage urgent reschedulings and cancellations timely and responsibly
• 🧑‍💻 Check your equipment before each class to prevent technical issues

If your Lesson Success rate dropped👇

1. Prevent further unsuccessful lessons by following the tips above.
2. Consistency is key. Focus on delivering exceptional continued lessons. The three-month window shifts day by day, thus, if you keep on having successful sessions regularly, your Success Rate will be improving.
3. Use time wisely. If you don't have immediate bookings to boost your Success Rate, enhance your tutor skills and platform knowledge in the meatime. Remain engaged in the Community to stay informed and active. Your Success Rate will reflect your efforts when the window updates.
4. If your final lesson within the moving window happened to be unsuccessful, and there is a prolonged period without new bookings, please don't lose heart! Remember, the window shifts daily, so in this event your Success Rate will simply be temporarily hidden from your profile until you have further bookings again.

Steady progress is key to a strong Success Rate. 🙌 By consistently delivering more engaging and successful lessons, you'll naturally see your Success Rate improve!

Enable Notifications

(Website Users)

Navigate to your account settings and simply switch on email notifications in the corresponding section:

(App Users)

1. Open the LiveXP app and head to the "Learning" tab.
2. Click on your profile picture in the upper-right corner > then select "Notifications."
3. From there, make sure to enable all types of notifications: for lessons, messages, and emails.

Once you've enabled notifications, you'll receive reminders through multiple channels:

1. A friendly reminder 1 hour and 10 minutes before your lesson will arrive from our LiveXP app.
2. We'll send you an email at the beginning of the day when your lesson is scheduled.
3. If you've connected your Google Calendar, you'll be alerted about your LiveXP lesson scheduled right alongside your other commitments. A seamless organization!

All of the above-mentioned must be submitted according to the Profile Setup Requirements. Otherwise, your profile may be hidden from the LiveXP tutor catalog and sent for further profile post-moderation. If it happens, such profiles become unavailable for bookings unless all the required changes are made.

Please note, that only users who are over 18 years old can be registered as tutors on LiveXP.

Description

Not acceptable:

❌  Sharing any links to websites offering similar services or personal social media.
❌  Adding your private contact information (email, phone number, billing address).
❌ Typos and grammar mistakes. Proofread the texts in the profile description before you publish them.

Good to have:

✅ In profile settings, choose all the languages you can teach in.

✅ Make your LiveXP title short and specific since it will appear on your tutor card. E.g., Certified ESL tutor.

✅ When filling in the Name field in your LiveXP Profile details (the name visible to everyone), use your actual name or the name you'd prefer potential students to address you by. Avoid marketing slogans or service descriptions. Keep it simple and authentic.

✅ If you've used a random username, ensure you fill in the real name field so others know how to address you.

✔  Keep the video up to 1.5-2 minutes
✔ Dress up neatly, avoiding provocative clothes that may cause a false perception of the platform and the services provided

✔ Set good lighting and avoid shadows or glares
✔ Make sure your camera is securely fixed to avoid shaking

Dimensions for profile pictures are 600 x 600 px, and for thumbnail images - 840 x 480 px

Obligatory:

✅ Show your face (except for religious or health reasons)
✅ Choose a portrait-type picture with the head and upper shoulder visible
✅ Smile
✅ Choose a neutral background (without excessive details, bright or intense colors, or other people visible)
✅ Take a high-quality picture (for the cover image, it must be horizontal)
✅ Set good lighting (avoid shadows or glares and looking ghostly white)

Trial Lessons

Get the hang of the LiveXP platform and tutors with our trial lessons! Each student can have unlimited trials, one per each tutor, priced at just $3.49 each. Here's how to get started:

1. Click 'Get started' on the home page.
2. Choose your desired language and learning goal.
3. Tell us your interests, so we can match you with the perfect tutor.
4. Click 'Start learning' and browse through our list of talented tutors.
5. Once you've found the one that catches your eye, click 'Book trial lesson' on their card and complete the booking process.

Purchasing Classes after a Trial Session

Once you are ready to dive deeper into your language learning adventure, you can proceed with purchasing subscription lessons after your trial. These lessons are credited to your balance upon initial subscribing and on each automatic subscription renewal.

1. Click 'Subscribe' in the upper-right corner of your screen.
2. Create your subscription plan based on your schedule and lesson duration preferences.
3. Complete the subscription process.

Now, with subscription lessons in your balance, you're all set to go further in your educational journey!
