Online learning can have many Advantages and Downsides. Therefore I’ll provide you with a little bit of insight on several of these advantages and downsides.

Advantages and Disadvantages:

Efficiency

Online learning not only offers teachers an efficient thanks of delivering lessons but also offers students an efficient way of learning lessons. there’s a variety of tools that will be used for the teachings, like videos, PDFs, podcasts, etc. It’s more efficient than your traditional textbook.

Accessibility of your time and Place

Student can attend their classes from any location they choose. Online lectures may be recorded and shared for future reference. Therefore students can access the training materials in their own comfort.

Affordability

Even I’ve come to realize that online learning is cheaper. You don’t have the additional cost of transport or student meals. The study materials are all available online, which saves you the additional costs of shopping for learning materials. Student Attendance: Since everything is online, scholars can miss out on lessons plenty but those visiting school. Students can take the classes from anywhere.

A Variety of Learning Styles

Each learner is unique and learns at his or her own time and pace.  Some thrive in classrooms, while others prefer one on one learning. Online learning encompasses a big selection of options and resources, which might be personalized to make the simplest learning environment suit the requirements of every student.

Unable To concentrate on Screens

Students have variable degrees of concentration. Some are easily distracted by their surroundings, may it be pets that are running around or outside noises.  In order for the students to focus on the lesson at hand, the teacher must make the classes fun and interactive to focus the student. The teacher must continuously ask the students questions to keep their minds from wandering off.

Technology Issues

One of the main drawbacks of online learning is internet connectivity. When you have a bad connection or slow connection, vital learning content can be lost or wrongfully understood. Without an identical internet connection for both students and teachers, there may be a lack of continuity in learning for the kid. So in order to have a smooth learning experience, make sure your connection is of the best quality available.

Sense of Isolation

In today’s world of online learning, the student can get a sense of isolation due to the fact of no physical interaction with the teacher or other students. Therefore, the school or college must allow other platforms for interaction between teachers and students, be it direct online messages, videos conference for face-to-face time, or via e-mail. There should also be a typical platform where students can engage each other with questions and ideas.

Teacher Training

In order for the teacher to have a successful class or session with the student, it is imperative that they have the best training materials at hand. Some teachers have a basic understanding of technology. It is, therefore, the institutions’ responsibility, as well as the teachers’, to ensure that they have the best available technology training. They must also ensure that they have the correct tools to conduct the class.

Manage Screen Time

Parents are concerned about their children developing bad posture or health hazards when they spend too much time in front of their computer screens. In order for them to maintain a healthy lifestyle, students must take regular breaks from online lessons. If possible, they must take a brisk walk outside or some other activity not involving their brain to concentrate. In doing so, it gives their brain and body to “reset” to continue learning. If possible, keep sessions no longer than 30 minutes with a 5 or 10-minute break in between.
