You are trying to hard. As it has been said, breathe and allow yourself to make mistakes. It seems you are, like many of us, afraid to fail. Thing is we all fail, especially when learning something new. Be okay with failure and you will soar! Best of luck to you.

Anyone who is starting to learn any language will be afraid of making mistakes in their speaking skills I mean fluency, how to say words or phrases in front of an other person or a group of people.

Typically, I teach groups, so I first introduce myself, my expectations, and then when I have questions I go in order of how the profiles are arranged on my screen. This way, I know everyone gets a chance to participate. For one on one (1:1) sessions, I assess the student’s ability through natural conversation and then tailor our session to the skills they showed weakness in during our conversation. Some students like structure, so I use their preferred books as prompts. This way they can supplement self study to our lessons or vice versa. When it comes to disruptive behavior, I remove the disruptive person and speak with them 1:1 after class. Negative behaviors are usually a call for attention, but there’s a time and place for that. The other students don’t need to be subjected to their behavior. During 1:1, I can be more lenient because it’s just the 2 of us. I can really get to know and help the student.
