- Hi dear teachers and students, What is the correct answer?👇
Historians typically treat widely …………….. materials as evidence of the strategies. (A) distribution (B) distribute (C) distributing (D) distributed
crwdns2631929:0crwdne2631929:0
I want to answer in detail for advanced learners: "widely" is an adverb so if it is before the verb, it is a sentence modifying adverb (which is not in this case). So this one is an adjective modifying adverb and the blank should be filled with an adjective, but there is no adjective between the choices, right? It should be noted that participles can take the role of an adjective and modify nouns. Both present participles (-ing) and past participles can take this role -> Spinning wheel, Broken watch. We have 1 present participle and 1 past participle among the options, which one is correct? both are grammatically correct, but only one of them makes a logical sentence and that's "distributed".

Monika LisGraduated English teacher & tutor with experience in teaching English language culture from England- giving too advanced exercises and sharing too advanced knowledge when the student isn't ready for that yet - focusing on teaching something according to typical school standards - when one part of the course materials isn't properly acquired and we try to teach next part of the course materials - not letting the student speak and expressing their own ideas - being late/ unprepared/ unprofessional/ too relaxed about our work - as the student won't care about studying without having any challenge - criticising student for making some mistakes, being rude, not emphatic and understanding of their learning progress and abilities - judging students - discrimination of students, etc.
- How do you encourage students to think critically and form their own interpretations of texts?
