- What are some of the most interesting and unusual features of the English language?
crwdns2631929:0crwdne2631929:0
I would say, the difference in how similar looking words are pronounced. E.g. Cough sounds different from rough and is also different from dough. Another unusual feature is Phrasal verbs and how many they are. A change of preposition and the meaning changes. E.g. Put up, put on, put down, put out The addition of 2 prepositions changes the meaning too. E.g. put up and put up with or put up to. These are some unusual features of the English Language.

Standardized tests are just as the name suggests; They are standard. We notice that in and on many forums. We see them employed when having to apply to get into an institution of learning, to land a job, or even to apply for a visa. As we move farther away from these tests and learn that our students do not all learn at the same pace and in the same way, we will receive a well-deserved epiphany; It is important to know although standardized tests serve as a qualification in some aspect, they cannot truly guarantee language proficiency or fluency.

1. Have a good profile so that it will make an impact. 2. Make a good impression of yourself during the trial lesson to ensure continuity. 3. Bring out all the good qualities of a teacher such as patience, understanding, impartiality, empathy, tolerance and of course to prepare the lessons suitable for the students. 4. Get to know a bit of the country of origin from where the students come from so you can have a good conversation. 5. Use a proper tone as new students get anxious or nervous during on-line classes. Need to calm them down. 6. Hope for a good feed-back from the student to build trust for other students. 7. Stick to your schedule and be on time.
