The main rule is to use logic to make sentences that make sense :D (if you are a beginner when you are talking in the past use only tenses in past for start, present for present, and future for future) Then take time and look at types of tenses ( Past, Present, Future, Simple/Indefinite, Continuous, Perfect, Perfect continuous) 12 in total, and that is it it will take some time but there is no cheating in learning. Good luck :D
- You made my day and you have made my day - what's the difference?
Do i need to use present perfect in this phrase “You have made my day”? Or it is used in past simple “You made my day”? Which of them is correct?
crwdns2631929:0crwdne2631929:0
If you used present perfect tense instead of past simple, it means that somebody did something excellent for you and it is connected to your present. If it is not connected to your present anymore, than you should use past simple. So, it depends on the context.

- how correct nosy or nosey?
i dont understand two words nosy and nosey. how to say correct?
crwdns2631929:0crwdne2631929:0
Nosy” is the most common form in both American English or British English, but “nosey” is still correct, though less common. When a word ends on a silent “e,” we generally drop the “e” before adding a suffix that starts with a vowel, but we keep it when adding one with a consonant.

Dale KinghornHow English Learners Stuck In The Intermediate Level Can Get To Fluency FAST Using The CI Method!Great question. Simply, this is something you say after you have inadvertently or 'accidentally' created a play on word. A play on word is when you use words to be clever or witty for comedic purposes. So a pun is a joke that makes a play on words. So you say 'no pun intended' when you accidentally used a word in a sentence and is usually followed with a laugh from the other. Hopefully this isn't too complicated for you; this is actually a great question that a lot of native speakers probably don't think about much. You will just understand more, the more you are exposed to it in real life conversations/situations etc. Example: A bicycle can't stand on its own because it is two-tired. hjaha 'no pun intended'. A pessimist's blood type is always B-negative. haha 'no pun intended' etc.. You can also say 'pun intended' to be a real wise ass (someone being clever or too confident) -:) I do this a lot haha
- Title: Problems with speaking
Hello folk! I'd like to know how can I improve my speaking skills. When it comes to chatting with the help of messengers there's no problem. The main issue is picking up needed words from my brain. I know most of them and can guess most of them and fathom them and understand. Maybe it's due to my memory abilities, or age, I'm 63 and my English is learnt by myself. I haven't graduated any university or school. Just my secondary school knowledge maybe. I'm Russian citizen though I'm not Russian by nationality, I'm avar, it's in South. I need a person who would spent his time becoming me a friend, of course I'm ready to pay. But close friend will be better. So, what would you advise me? Thank you
crwdns2631929:0crwdne2631929:0
Hi there. It's very nice to meet you. I have a few suggestions that you might like to try. If I understand the problem correctly, it's that you don't recall words when you are having a conversation or when you need them. The only way to improve this is to use these words more regularly. 1) Don't just read articles and watch movies. Take the time afterwards to describe / tell yourself what you've read or watched. Obviously you should deacribe it in English. It's better to do it aloud but you can do it in your head as well if that'll make you feel silly. 2) Find a magazine you like or instagram page with photographs of many different things. Describe them in English to yourseld as well. 3) You can record youself while speaking about a topic and then listen to it later and try and identify mistakes you made or words you should have used. 4) Try to read, watch, listen and speak about as many different topics you like and not necessarily the ones you like. -Nix
