Eleni SerdariTESOL/TEFL certified English teacherIt can be difficult at first to tell the difference, you need to familiarise yourself with parts of speech. You could use a dictionary and read as much as you can so that you slowly understand the differences. A tutor of course can help you with that ,too why don't you try using the language outside the classroom as often as you can? It can help you a great deal!

Hi Anosh, PROUD is an adjective. To be proud means to feel happy or satisfied about something like an achievement or reward. E.g. If I finish first place in a race, I might feel proud of myself. However, PROUD also has a very bad meaning as well. When we describe someone as being a proud person it can mean that he thinks very highly of himself. He usually thinks he's the best and that others are wrong or that others are underneath him. Hope this helps:-)

- Why do we use "pros" and "cons" in the meaning of "advantages" and "disadvantages"?

- Can I use "recently" and "lately" interchangeably? Are they the same?
For example, I haven't seen Mike recently/lately.
crwdns2631929:0crwdne2631929:0
HI. Lately is more continuous, something that you expect to happen and often happens e.g. I have n't seen Mike lately meaning I often see Mike but have n't seen him for a while. Recently is used to describe something that happened in the recent past but does n't have the continuous nature of something happening often e.g. I saw Mike recently.

- Song lyrics - correctness
Hello. I am Chessla. I was encouraged to write some english lyrics because my friends told me I am the best english speaking person amongst them. I am not a native speaker and I need to know whether my lyrics are gramaticaly correct or not. And whether they make sense. I have only 2 lyrics. I don't know any english native speaker. So I search here for some help. Are you able to help me by checking it and writing me some strict criticism? Sincerely Chessla

SuzanECertified Teacher“Hey Chessla, don’t make it bad Take a sad song and make it better As long as, the words come from your heart Then you can start to make it better…” I’m passionate about music and would really enjoy helping you with your lyrics. Do you recognize the above lyrics? Do they sound familiar? I changed the words a bit to answer your question. Can you name the real song? Do you know the band? Anyway, I come from a family of musicians, so this is a topic that I would love to sink my teeth into with you! I hope to hear from you soon!
