Hi my name is Peter! I am 24 years old and From Portland Oregon USA. I have worked in the restaurant industry for 10 years. I am currently in school for web development. I love to cook, bake, hike, travel, practice archery, and learn about culture. In my time in restaurants I was very often in charge of teaching others. From simple tasks such as cutting an onion to more complex tasks such as properly running a busy service or Preparing delicate emulsifications. I taught many people from a wide range of backgrounds. More often than not I found myself working with non English speaking individuals. This really challenged me to learn other languages and to learn how to teach through different barriers. I realized I loved to teach people. My lessons and teaching style is curated to every individual. I believe everybody learns in their own unique way. The best results I’ve had when teaching is from understanding how the student learns and processes information. Once I understand the student we can work through material at a much faster pace. You can always expect a positive and growth orientated environment. I always encourage the student to ask why and ask as many questions as possible.
