Hi my name is Mampeo and I am 27 years old. I am from Lesotho, a small beautiful country in southern Africa. I have over two years experience in teaching English and I am also a sign language interpreter. Additionally, I hold a qualification in Radio and TV Broadcasting, enhancing my communication skills in various contexts.
Apart from teaching, I am passionate about traveling and staying active. I have visited beautiful destinations like Cape Town, South Africa, where the diversity in culture left a lasting impression on me and Botswana, which I found to be incredibly peaceful. I am also a professional volleyball player and I enjoy exploring new experiences.
Currently, I am expanding my online teaching career and I am excited to share my love for language with students worldwide.
Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of teaching English to a diverse range of students online and also volunteering in my community school as a tutor. I hold a 120h TEFL certificate and together with my Broadcasting and sign language qualifications, my communication skills in the classroom are definitely enriched.
My teaching style combines direct instruction, inquiry-based learning, and the flipped classroom model to create an engaging and effective learning environment.
Direct instruction provides a clear foundation by delivering structured lessons that convey essential concepts and skills. This ensures students have a solid understanding before tackling more complex material.
With inquiry-based learning, I encourage students to explore questions and problems actively. This method fosters critical thinking and empowers them to take ownership of their learning through investigation and analysis.
The flipped classroom model allows students to access instructional content outside of class, freeing up time for deeper discussions and collaborative activities. This approach encourages students to engage with material at their own pace, enhancing their overall learning experience.
By integrating these methods, I promote engagement, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.
