Hello! My name is Fiona Harte. I am twenty-four years old. I was born in Ireland and live in the United Kingdom.
I have spent the past year living in Ho Chi Minh City, teaching English to children. I am now moving to London, which is very exciting. I also have over three years of experience teaching English Speech & Drama online to children across the globe.
My hobbies include yoga, horseback riding and running. I ran the London marathon last year.
I am energetic, patient and kind. These are all qualities I transfer to my classroom when I conduct my lessons.
I am certified in TEFL and I have also received a first-class Honors Degree in English.
I have over three years of experience teaching English online with the Ellendel School of Speech & Drama. I have taught students from across the UK, China, France, V
I am a patient, encouraging and kind tutor. It is important to me that a student enjoys our lessons and feels comfortable during them. I aim to create a positive and enjoyable learning environment for children through positive reinforcement and encouragement. My teaching ethos aims to create a global student equipped with the necessary language skills to be equipped in today's modern, globalized world. All my lessons are student focused with an emphasis on getting the student to speak as much as possible. I am expressive in my body language and implement a plethora of TPRs in order for children to understand the content without direct translation.
I implement the three D's in my teaching style: direct, discuss and delegate.
Direct - Explain the purpose and learning outcomes of the lesson and explain the new content.
Discuss - Ask questions to the students, encourage them to speak and get involved.
Delegate - Assign work for the students to work on independently.
