Rumeysa Turk

Hello there! I am Rumeysa. I'm from Turkey, and I've been living in Turkey since I was born. I actually like helping people, that's why teaching English is a fun way to earn money for me. I won't lie, sometimes it is really hard, but still I like this job. I like animals, (except insects and reptiles lol) rainy and snowy weather (walking on the snow is one of my favorite things), and spending time with my friends or family. Of course, if I can find time, I also like to see different places and travel :) I mostly prefer working with teen or adult learners, because if the student is aware of her/his responsibilities, lessons become better for both parties. I met with amazing people thanks to this job, and I really appreacite all of them. I learned many things from many of them. And I'm looking forward to learn and meet more students! In 2020, I didn't really want to be a teacher, but in 2021, I discovered that I could do it, and then I discovered that this profession could actually satisfy me emotionally. In October 2021, while I was a university student, I started my professional life by teaching middle and primary school students in a small institution. After working at that institution for about 8 months, I started working at another private institution in 2022. I am still teaching full-time at the same institution. Although my classes change every 2-3 months, I currently teach students at A1 - B1 levels. My students are mostly from Turkey. However, I also regularly take speaking lessons for different students at A2 - C1 - C2 - B2 levels. In 2022, we actively focused on many different skills with different students from many different nations here and I always tried to do my best. Although I had to take a break here due to some developments in my life, I am ready to return now. The most important factors for me are to deserve the money I earn and to be satisfied with the lessons I teach as a teacher. Therefore, doing my best for each lesson is my priority. In the trial lesson, we choose a very basic subject, talk a little bit about it and do some activities, which is how I want you to see my narration. Then, depending on the level and motivation of the people, we determine the number of lessons they want to do per week and follow a path accordingly. I have different methods for different needs. The homework part is something I prefer according to the motivation of the people. Some people say I don't want to do it at all or I can't do it, I don't have time, so I don't give homework, but I think it is healthier to give homework because the most important thing outside the lesson will be your effort and repetition. I trust myself and my teaching style, I try to do the best I can and put in the effort, so I trust myself.
