Sinesitha

My name is Sinesitha Dungu, I am an English Tutor who's currently working at the University of Fort Hare. I'm the oldest among my siblings. I feel that my passion for teaching stems from teaching my younger siblings with their schoolwork that they struggled to understand in their classes. I like doing my hobbies while listening to podcasts. My hobbies include running, crocheting, and designing clothes. The hobbies I have, have taught me to have patience because all good things take time. I am TEFL certified with 4 years of experience. I tutored students in English reading, writing and communication. I tutor my students with the help of teachers aids that help them understand different concepts better. I have often worked with slow learners, so I am very patient with my students. In my lessons I make use of a variety of things like PowerPoints, maps, pictures, videos and audio aids (E.g. songs and rhymes). After teaching, I like to divide my class in teams and play memory games with the students to see how much information they have retained from my teachings, while also motivating them to learn. Through my 4 years of experience, I found that bt playing games, students become more motivated to learn, pay attention and participate in set tasks. This allows students, especially slow learners, to gain confidence in their studies. This confidence is what I believe gives my students drive and an apt for learning.
