Hello everyone! My name is Sean and I'm from Petoskey, Michigan I'm 32 years old. Some of my hobbies include hiking, mountain climbing, reading, language learning, and playing my bagpipes. In 2019, I completed my 120-hour TEFL certificate through ITTT. I have experience teaching students in groups and 1 Vs 1 in person and online. I have 6 months of volunteer experience at a small school in Chiapas, Mexico where I taught in person and online. For the past 6 months, I have been teaching online group courses at the Proulex language school. In my time teaching, I have taught conversation classes, grammar, pronunciation, writing, and reading. My teaching style is communicative-oriented. I like to provide my students with the language that they can apply to the real world and their experiences. I prefer a hands-off approach, letting my students attempt to work through problems on their own. However, I am always there to provide assistance and explanation when needed. I keep my lessons easy-going and lighthearted. Working through the difficulties of learning a foreign language is a lot easier when you are able to enjoy the process. I like to use various games and online activities that allow my students to directly engage with the topic being covered. I try to use a variety of media when introducing new concepts (music, videos, PowerPoint, etc.) to appeal to all types of learners.
