Sandra Arias

I’m Cuban. I love Adele’s music, jazz and R&B mainly. I love dancing salsa and I’m very good at it. Additionally, I enjoy baking for my family. I’m in my mid 40’s and have two young adult children. I’ve been a teacher for most of my professional life. No matter what the student’s learning style is, there’s always room to learn if time and effort are put in place. I’m a qualified teacher of English as a foreign language graduated from the Pedagogical University of Havana. I’ve taught university students at all levels. Most recently, I’ve been working at the international school of Havana as a primary Homeroom teacher. I’ve taught grades Kindergarten, 1, 2 and 4. I rather have a facilitator role as a teacher primarily focusing my lessons on my students’ needs and interests. With children, toys, games and songs will help and boost the learning. As for teenagers and adults, lessons are adapted in a way both the teacher and the student find a common ground from which to start from discussing likes as well as dislikes, strengths and areas for further improvement! It’s a learning journey throughout!
