I grew up in a small mountainous village in Anhui, China and I now live in Geneva, Switzerland. In life, I love learning new languages (and sometimes failing at it) and meeting new people. Mountains, snow, and second-hand objects are some of my favourite things.
I speak Mandarin Chinese, English, French and my village dialect. I have a Master's degree in translation (Chinese-English) from Beijing Foreign Studies University and a Master's degree in education from University of Oxford. Professionally, I have 3 years of experience in adult learning design and I spent 9 years in Beijing working in the cross section of education and languages.
I am in the process of obtaining a Pearson certificate for teaching Chinese as a foreign language. I would love to meet you and discuss how I can help you to learn Chinese in a better way!
You can expect a teacher who is open-minded and curious about you. I would ask you questions, including why you wanted to learn Chinese. For me, motivation is key to learning anything. Therefore, I would like to discuss with you how you can stay motivated and put Chinese learning into your life. We would start from the level you are at currently and slowly build up your skills. Conversations, practice using real-life materials, and asking and answering questions will be our focus.
