Hi! My name is Max, I'm a certified TEFL teacher and English conversation tutor from the US. I am based in Valencia, Spain where I work as an English Language Assistant. Before living in Spain, I lived in Richmond, Virginia, for 5 years where I obtained my bachelor's degree in Psychology. I am passionate about helping students achieve their English learning goals. I love languages and am currently a B2 level Spanish speaker. In my free time I enjoy biking around my city, finding new cafes and restaurants, cooking, spending time with friends, painting, and attending live music shows. I also love to travel and learn about various cultures and different ways of life. Teaching English allows me to connect with students from all over the world. I have taught English in Valencia, Spain, having worked as an English Language Assistant in a public primary school and I currently work at a high school. I have experience as an in school reading tutor in Richmond, Virginia, USA. I also have experience teaching English to adults. I have a relaxed approach to teaching and I like to make my lessons student centered. I like to make my lessons relevant and useful to real life situations that students may encounter. I also tailor my lessons to the needs and the levels of the students I work with. My main focus is on English conversation practice, however, I also enjoy teaching reading, writing, grammar, phonics, and pronunciation. I like to use a variety of resources to teach English such as online lesson plans, books, worksheets, games, and videos.
