Hi, everyone! My name is Maria, and I am thrilled to be an online tutor. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Mathematics and Statistics and a Master’s Degree in Quantitiatve finance from the Singapore Management University. Although Math has been one of my strong subjects, I take a personal interest in English. I am fascinated by English Literature and appreiate the works of William Shakespeare and George Elliot I also enjoy reading, traveling, solving sudoku puzzles., and I’m always excited to learn about new things. I have about 5 years of informal teaching and mentoring experience especially for students between grades 3-6 (for English) and adults on public speaking. I took the IELTS in 2019 and attained an 8.5 band with a perfect score in the Reading Section. My teaching style is focused on building a strong foundation of knowledge and then building upon it to help students reach their full potential. I believe that practice and reinforcement are key to mastering any subject, and I always provide plenty of opportunities for students to practice what they’ve learned. I also like to incorporate real-world examples and applications into my lessons to help students see the relevance and practicality of their learning. My ultimate goal as a tutor is to help you build confidence in your abilities and develop a lifelong love for learning.
