Luke Fenlon

Hello, my name's Luke, I'm 33 and I come from Liverpool, UK. I was adept with language and literature skills from a young age receiving high grades in school, I then went onto College/University where I received a Diploma & Batchelor's Degree in Music & Business. I currently live in Turkey with my Turkish wife having previously lived in France for 2 years also. I've been a professional musician since I was 16, which is still my main passion in life. Through music, I've had the privilege of traveling to many countries, experiencing many new cultures along the way. I became an English teacher accidentally when I was asked to come and teach at a local language school where I was living in Bordeaux, France and discovered a natural aptitude for teaching fuelled by my strong communication, listening skills, and a deep desire to help people. Generally though, I just love to chat and meet new people from all walks of life! I currently teach English at 'İngiliz Kültür' in Aydin, Turkey where I've been teaching for almost a year. On top of this I've spent countless hours teaching both my Turkish Fiancée and the many foreign friends I've gained along the way! I adopt an eclectic teaching approach, prioritising the creation of a positive learning environment. Recognising the individuality of each student, I understand that there's no one-size-fits-all method. My initial focus is on understanding students' unique skills and preferred learning styles. I find joy in tailoring my teaching methods to their preferences. There's an interesting method I've been working on lately where I use songwriting as a way to learn English, this is something that everybody loves whether they're a musician or not and it's always nice to have something tangible to take away with you once the lesson is finished! Drawing from my broad knowledge of diverse cultures and subjects, I strive to keep lessons interesting. Also, as a passionate learner myself, I value the opportunity to meet and connect with new people from around the world.
