Welcome to my Language Learning Journey! 👋 Hi there! I'm Jerry, a passionate language educator with a diverse background and a commitment to helping students achieve their language learning goals. Here's a bit about me: 🌍 Background: Originally from Haiti, but currently living in Türkiye Istanbul, I bring a rich cultural perspective to my teaching. Fluent in both French and English, with a growing proficiency in Spanish, I've honed my language skills through academic study and real-world experience. 🎓 Education: I hold a degree in Applied Linguistics from the State University of Haiti, where I spent four years delving deep into the intricacies of language acquisition. 📚 Interests: Outside of teaching, I enjoy diving into a good book, cheering on my favorite soccer teams, staying active through jogging and workouts, and exploring new languages and cultures. 🎓 Teaching Background: With a solid foundation in Applied Linguistics from the State University of Haiti, I embarked on a teaching career that has spanned over nine years. In Haiti, I immersed myself in the world of secondary education, shaping the language skills of teenagers and young adults for six enriching years. 🇹🇷 International Transition: Upon relocating to Turkey, I seamlessly transitioned into teaching a new cohort of eager learners. Over the past three years, I've had the pleasure of working with both youngsters and adults, tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs and aspirations of each student. 📚 Teaching Philosophy: For the past six years, I've had the privilege of teaching English and French to secondary students, both in Haiti and now in Turkey. My approach revolves around creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to express themselves.
