Geraldine Aigbe

Hello, my name is Geraldine. I have a Bachelors in Sociology and Anthropology and I am TEFL certified. I love travelling to new countries, learning about new cultures, meeting people and learning new cooking recipes. I am a very cheerful, patient and really fun person. I love to learn about the interests of my students, their likes and dislikes too. I also love telling real life stories of events that have happened to me. (They are super interesting by the way). I am well-travelled so I know how learning a second language can be challenging, I will help you to understand and speak in an interesting and fun way. As an ESL teacher, I would describe my teaching experience as both challenging and rewarding. Working with students who are learning English as a second language requires a lot of patience, creativity, and flexibility. One of the most challenging aspects To begin with, I prioritize establishing trust, confidentiality, and friendship with my students, regardless of their age. I firmly believe that people are more receptive to information from individuals they trust, and once trust is established, students are less likely to let down their teacher and therefore take their education seriously. In order to facilitate supervised exploration, I strive to create an environment that encourages meaningful and realistic learning experiences. I firmly believe that the most profound learning occurs in situations that are both engaging and practical. To promote both learning and enjoyment simultaneously, I incorporate a variety of tools such as games, realia, interactive boards, and storytelling. By integrating these methods, I am able to foster an enjoyable and effective learning experience for my students. I hold the belief that teaching is an ongoing learning process and that by teaching, we continue to learn.
