Amanda

Hello. My name is Amanda, I have been a Spanish as a foreign language teacher for more than three years. I was born in Cuba, but I currently live in Montevideo, Uruguay. I really like cinema, literature and art in general. I really enjoy learning about new cultures and I love healthy food. I have taught languages for more than three years. My first work experience was at the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the University of Havana. There I contributed to the design and implementation of teaching units adapted to the learning needs of students and the coordination of cultural activities that complement linguistic learning. I currently teach at the Uruguayan Spanish academy La Herradura Spanish School where I teach Spanish to groups of adults, teenagers and children from levels A1 to C2. I plan lessons and evaluate students. Additionally, I facilitate conversation sessions and language support in small classes. I provide online instruction through platforms such as Zoom and Google Classroom, adjusting teaching methods to meet the individual needs of over 30 students from different countries. My classes are focused on the functionality of the language, the idea is that you can learn not only the grammar of Spanish, but also its functional content in everyday situations. In my classes we will use resources such as music and literature to bring you closer to the culture of the American continent. We will also have conversation classes where you can practice your Spanish and improve your fluency.
