Hi my name is Marilyn I am from South Africa. A very beautiful country, I am living in a beautiful city of Cape which is also known as a mother city. I am 41 years old, a mother to my 2 beautiful daughters and a son. I am currently working as a foundation phase teacher in South Africa.I teach young children and I enjoy being with them, I love travelling and meeting new people, I love to read to expand my knowledge. As I am a teacher I believe that teaching is also learning and it requires someone who is will to grow. I regard education as a seed planted in someone’s life and when it grows it’s when the teacher feels proud. I like to build a healthy relationship with my students so that they ca n be free, in that way it’s easy for them to learn from. It is my first time applying to be an online teacher and I am supper excited about it, trying new things and willing to learn is my passion.I am ready to start this new journey and I hope that my application will be successful. Thank you I studied Early Childhood Education in one of our colleges in South Africa called False bay collageand I have a certificate for that. I taught grade R(kindergarten) for nine years, it was a very nice experience for me as I enjoy working with the little ones, then I upgraded to do a degree in Education, I obtained bachelor degree in Education then I applied to teach in the foundation phase as I am currently teaching grade 1. It has been two years now and I am enjoying it. Working with grade 1 is very challenging because that is the beginning of real education for them and they are being introduced to the new world of learning. I am teaching English as a second language, it is not so easy for them to learn an additional language as South African language's are not far from each other. They confuse sounds and letter and vowels. I have to be patient with them and give them time to digest. I have done my TEFL certificate and I am ready to start my new journey.I am ready to start my journey I am an experienced teacher, I have been teaching for 11 years now, teaching English as a foreign language will be a new experience for me but I promise my learners to give them the best. I thrive for excellence nothing else. I promise my students a wonderful journey as they learn. Learning is very fun when someone is comfortable, I build a healthy relationship with my students and that makes it easy for them. I believe in learner centred approach which means learners are more involved and well participate in discussions and activities, in my class I mostly use audio-lingualism teaching method where I emphasise on learning grammatical and phonological structures especially for speaking and listening conversational language.
