Hello, nice meeting you😀! My name is Lesedi from 🌞 South Africa - A true melting pot of cultures and cuisine! 🌈Here's the story of my life: I'm an ex computer techie and current English tutor who loves life and helping others improve their English, so they can handle the world demand with confidence. I’m easy going and love meeting new people 🧑‍🤝‍🧑🌏and hearing different perspectives. I'm fascinated by technology developments & languages. I love spending time with family and friends, that includes you my dear student. I enjoy travelling around the world, learning different cultures and exploring their food. I try to relate my passion for cooking to my love of languages for example whenever I travel to another country I like to buy a cookbook in a local language and try out different culture cuisines while trying to learn their language. I discovered my passion for teaching during a vacation in Taiwan in 2019, where I taught English as a foreign language to elementary school children. Subsequently, in 2020, I began informally teaching English online to adults. Throughout my university years, I engaged in tutoring activities, assisting first-year students in Information Systems, as well as elementary school children with various tasks including homework, spelling, and pronunciation. In 2020, I obtained certification with a 150-hour TEFL course. I prioritize addressing individual student needs, interests, and learning styles to foster a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere. My approach revolves around the motto "I do, we do, you do," encouraging students to feel comfortable expressing themselves without fear of making mistakes. I firmly believe that mistakes are essential for growth and success, and by embracing them, students can make significant progress in their learning journey. Learning techniques you will generally experience in my classroom include: (1) 🧑‍🤝‍🧑Role playing to practice fluency, correct use of vocabulary and grammar. As well as, appropriate use of specific professional terms, and listening skills. (2) 📻Watching videos, playing games, listening to podcasts, reading news articles and story telling. (3) ✍️Completing tasks to help you understand the topic and use the language skills you have learned.
