Hello! My name is Lashanea, I'm 23 and from South Africa. I have lived abroad in the USA for four years. I am currently studying towards a bachelors of education degree. A few of my hobbies include travelling, cooking, make up and going for walks along the beach. I have four years experience of teaching English online to Japanese students across all levels and ages. I also have a 120 hour TEFL/TESOL Certificate. Beginner Lessons; Topic- Basic vocabulary- colours, numbers, family members. Structure- Start with visual aids (Flashcards or pictures). Engage in a repetition activity, ask student to select correct pictures. Activities- Use TPR (TOTAL PHYSICAL RESPONSE) where you gesture or act out vocabulary, encouraging students to mimic. teaching style- Communicative language teaching i focus on real life communication, I encourage students to express themselves in scenarios. Use role-play and storytelling to build confidence and focusing on fluency rather then accuracy. Direct method- Using English only, emphasising simple phrases and questions to help students build their comprehension skills through context.
