I’m Gaynor from Cape Town, South Africa. My hobbies include dancing (Salsa dancing), hiking, gardening, travelling, meeting new people and painting small pieces of furniture. I also love languages (not that I can speak many) and learning about different cultures and I believe that teaching English as a foreign language is an amazing way to meet people from different countries and cultures. In 2016 I completed a 120-hour online TEFL course plus a 20-hour practical course with i-to-i. Although I do not have formal TEFL-teaching experience, I gained experience planning lessons, designing materials, and delivering lessons during the practical t My teaching style is fun and interactive. I believe in constant mutual engagement between teacher and student so that the student does not get bored if the teacher does most of the talking. For younger students I'll play many games to engage the students and simultaneously imprint what was learnt. For older students with a higher level of of English, I'll focus more on speaking activities. I value the opportunity to engage in conversation with students and not only formal lessons because I believe that when people decide to learn any language, the goal is always to be able to converse comfortably in that language.
