Laurene Mkamanga

I am from Malawi and I am 22 years old. My hobbies include traveling, walking, and watching podcasts or interviews. I have had the privilege of teaching in diverse environments, ranging from schools to online platforms. Most recently, I worked as an English Tutor online , where I conducted over 1000 1-on-1 online English sessions for mostly Japanese adults and children. This role allowed me to engage with students of varying proficiency levels, helping them improve their conversational English, grammar, and overall language confidence for various real-world applications. Prior to this, I served as an Educator at an international school in Blantyre, Malawi, where I incorporated engaging activities to enhance student participation and achieved a remarkable 96% pass rate across key subjects. Additionally, I have been deeply involved in volunteer teaching roles, which have further enriched my experience. At a Church in Blantyre, Malawi, I have been teaching children since 2013, developing creative methods to help them grasp complex ideas. My teaching style is interactive and student-centered, making learning engaging and enjoyable. I create a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel valued and encouraged to participate. In my lessons, students can expect tailored instruction focusing on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversational skills. I provide regular feedback and positive reinforcement, helping students build confidence and proficiency in English for various real-world applications.
