I’m an English teacher, originally from Trinidad and Tobago but currently living in Madrid, Spain. I have over 12 years of experience as an ESL teacher. I’ve worked at several international and local schools in Spain over the years. This has allowed me to experiment and become familiar with a variety of methodologies. I enjoy teaching and learning and strive to make my classes as enjoyable and personalized as as possible. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling when I can and cooking and trying new foods. I’m also a huge fan of music- all types and reading. I’ve taught in several international schools in Madrid and Toledo. While studying I taught Spanish to young children (ages 4-12). I’ve been lucky to earn certifications in IB methodologies (both PYP and MYP) as well as active learning methodology. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a Master’s in Bilingual and Multicultural Education. Students can expect to enjoy my lessons. I believe that we learn better when we are having fun and have a good relationship with our teachers. I use a variety of tools in my classes. These include but aren’t limited to: videos, music, art, role playing and general conversation.
