Hi everyone,
David here. I'm 45 years old and have more than 20 years of experience teaching both English and Spanish as second languages. I have worked and lived in 7 different countries which has allowed me to be in contact with people of many different cultures and linguistic backgrounds.
I love reading, cooking, sports, watching films & series, walking around town, traveling to new destinations and doing things that take me out of my comfort zone.
I believe that we can have a rich learning experience and I am looking forward to interacting with you.
I have taught both English and Spanish since I was in university. More than 20 years in total.
I have lived in different parts of Mexico, the USA, New Zealand, Russia, Latvia and Estonia.
I am certified to teach Very Young Learners, and I have taught children from 2 years old (from Zero if we count my children), and I have plenty of experience with kids, pre-teens and teenagers.
Of course, I have also taught adults from 18 and on, and people of all social and economic conditions.
I perfectly understand professional lingo from many different specializations and I can teach Business English as well.
In regards to Exam preparation, I have taught kids, teens and adults in PET, KET, CAE, CFE, and IELTS.
In regards to Spanish, I can teach from very young learniners (VYL) to adults. I don't specialize in Exam Preparation except for Mexican Citizenship Exam.
My lessons are dynamic and fun. However, I am a bit strict when it comes to homework. If no homework is done, there's no advance.
For me, homework consists of some grammar exercises but, more importantly consists of practicing the right way: listening to podcasts, watchinig specific vlogs from youtubers, learning songs, reading books, and so on.
The learning experience is as Immersive as reasonably possible, in order for students to maximize and accelerate the process of LEARNING TO THINK in the target language.
