My name is Alan and I come from Ireland. I am 41 years old and I have been living in Nice in the south of France for the last six years. I previously lived in Germany for 8 years. I enjoy hiking and swimming as I live next to the sea and mountains. Additionally, I like watching historical documentaries, watching sports (Rugby, boxing, Irish sports, MMA) and socializing. I obtained my TEFL certificate in 2009 and then started teaching English in 2010. I worked for 2 language schools in Germany (Inlingua Freiburg, Inlingua Cologne). After 8 years living in Germany, I moved to France and began teaching online. I have been working for Learnship GmbH since 2018. I worked for Goforlanguages from 2018 - 2022 I specialize in the following areas of English- Business English, General English, Technical English, IT English, Medical English, Legal English, Sports English, Young Learners, Engineering English, Presentations Preparation, Meetings, CV/Resume and Cover Letter Preparation, Business Writing, Correspondence, Conversational English, IELTS preparation, TOEFL preparation, TOEIC preparation, GBC preparation I have covered all levels from Beginner to Advanced. I have taught group and 1 to 1 lessons.. My students have covered the four corners of the world, and all walks of life such as CEOs, engineers, trainees, soldiers, refugees, unemployed, etc My approach is to give them exactly what they need whatever that may be. I believe in making the student feel at ease immediately and then inquire to what he/she needs and pinpoint the areas that need to be worked on. Based on that, I can develop a plan that will cater to the students needs and wishes. Humor and fun are integral parts of my lessons as I believe be it a CEO or a teenager, humour and fun can lead to better productivity. I will always adapt my lesson plans according to the student's progress. I am a big believer in PRACTICAL use of the language. I always make sure that they have language that they can use not just from time to time but on a regular basis be it for trips, meetings, email writing, social interaction, school etc. I always make sure that my students learn in a fun yet productive environment.
