Hey, I'm Tanja:) I'm a 25-year-old Finnish woman, currently residing in sunny Australia. Languages have always been all around me, having been born in a bilingual home (Finnish & Russian), and in a bilingual country (Finnish & Swedish). Of course, now I live in the English speaking Australia, although, I actually work remotely in a German company 🤓 In my free time, I love to go to the beach, hang out with my friends and family and exercise. I've taught Finnish previously in an "Each one, teach one" -setting at my uni, where I enhanced my Russian skills while simultaneously teaching another student to speak better Finnish. I know a lot of useful resources to use and recommend for eager Finnish learners and can guide especially in conversational Finnish, which is key when aiming to use Finnish in real settings. Having learned different languages in school and university, I've got experience from 15+ years. I'm aware of many diverse ways of broadening the vocabulary and know how to personalize the learning path for different learners. I start with students by learning about what they want to achieve. It's also important for me to understand how the student learns - and structure the lessons suited to their preferred style. I also find it important that we focus on making sure that the students get a chance to use their skills through relevant exercises and learn vocabulary that is used in real life and is useful.
