I am native in Cantonese and Mandarin, proficient in English (IELTS 7.5, C1) and Japanese (N2) and am currently studying Spanish. I have worked and lived abroad for the last four years in North and Latin America and throughout Asia. I also travelled within Europe in 2019.
I am currently working as a psychotherapist with over 2 years experience working with both teenagers and adults. As a private practitioner, I am responsible for my work hours and clients intake which I am flexible to adjust.
Regarding my academic background, I have a BSc. in Psychology from the University of Jinan, China; an MSc. in Cognitive Neurosciednce (second language development) from the East China Normal University, China; 2-years graduate research work in Cognitive Neuroscience (language development with dyslexia) as a cross-center project manager and the primary MRI personnel at the University of Connecticut, USA.
- English: I recently completed my Cambridge University certified CELTA training course through International House, London (January 10th - April 06th, 2024) which includes 120 hours of training in the teaching of English as a second language to students of mixed ages and levels. I have completed 6 hours of assessed teaching practice and some unobserved teaching.
- Chinese: I am certified by CTCSOL. During my master, I taught Chinese to participants from Europe, North and Latin America and Asia.
- Others: I also assisted teaching MATLAB to university students (age 18-22) and was a psychological teacher in primary school (age 6-12).
I am passionate about studying and teaching languages and would love to give interactive and effective English and Chinese lessons. I will focus on students' need and make it more student-centered by using communicative approach.
