Hi my name is Anthony (Tony) and I've really enjoyed my brief introduction to online English teaching. I am a native English speaker and have an impressive vocabulary, I use correct grammar and punctuation, as well as including many common idiomatic expressions in conversation. My career required me to communicate effectively with people in diverse positions in industry or commerce, so I developed the skill to explain complicated information in simple, easy to understand language. I anticipate having a lot of fun meeting new people and sharing my talent with anyone who wants to learn English.
For 7 weeks a taught online classes for iTutor Group, including individual lessons and group classes of up to 6. I really enjoyed the time I spent with young to middle aged adults but also met a few really wonderful school age children. I spent my career
All languages incorporate words that were borrowed from other cultures with which they interact and I often recognise the origin of English words in French, Italian, German, Portuguese texts. However the rules of grammar that determine sentence structure are often very different. I don't believe that many learners benefit from struggling through complicated technical grammar lessons, because through real conversations with a tactful tutor who give examples and corrects mistakes, the rules can be learned while having fun and enjoying verbal interaction.
During my first few weeks of online teaching I was surprised to find how many students after taking lessons for years, still lacked the confidence to speak freely in a group class. Many learners could read fairly complicated text and appeared to understand easily, but really struggled to construct a few sentences when asked to answer a question or explain their opinion.
I'm sure I can help you overcome this hurdle; let's try together.
