Patrick Guilfoyle

I am a Canadian expat living snd teaching in South Korea since 1996. I am married to a Korean and together we have two children: a 24 year old daughter and an 18 year old son. I am an EFL educator who is passionate about public speaking and leadership. I have been a member of Toastmasters since 2012. During that time I have co-founded five clubs, given over 500 speeches and was awarded the Area Director of the year award in 2015 for District 93. I have facilitated training sessions for officers as well as have been Chief Judge for speech contests as well as Contest Chair. Currently I am the Area S 1 Director for District 100 (Southern California). I strongly believe in empowering people with soft skills- (public speaking and leadership) needed for professional and personal success in life. When I am not busy with public speaking and leadership, you will find me off hiking and taking pictures with my I-Phone 15 Pro Max or my Canon Hybrid camera. I love hiking too. Hope to C U. I have taught middle school social studies in Canada and four years of university teaching experience in South Korea. I also have 6 1/2 years of high school teaching experience in South Korea where I taught IBT TOEFL, IELTS, AP European History and AP Political Science. Importantly, I have 12 1/2 years of public school teaching experience too. In addition to my experience in South Korea, I have taught with the following online companies: 51 Talk English, Palfish and Cambly. Students can expect a teacher who is confident, organized, professional and patient. Students can expect a teacher who can confidently lead them in all aspects of English: spoken, written, listening and oral. Since I am passionate about public speaking, students can expect to speak more confidently to others and in front of people.
