I am a native English speaker from South Africa, I have 1 year of informal teaching experience. I am passionate about teaching and I love to push everyone to their full potential. I am a patient and motivating person, which are qualities all good teachers should have. I have worked in places that helped me polish my English skills to make me an even better English speaker and expand my skill set. I am interested in many things, some of them are, almost anything to do with planets and the cosmos. Another thing is sleight of hand magic, I follow some of the greats such as David Blaine, dynamo and Penn and Teller. I'm quite an avid gamer as well and I love my music. I also enjoy reading, I believe that it not only helps with your imagination, it also helps you to increase your vocabulary for you to speak better. I have a strict exercising routine that helps me work on my own self discipline. I believe that self discipline is one of the best, if not the best thing for a person to have.
My teaching career started with my schooling career. I was always one step ahead of my friends, so when they needed help with schoolwork, I would help them. Since then, I’ve had a passion for teaching and have helped kids in my community with their work
I have a variety of teaching styles that I use when teaching my students. One style is called a "show and tell" approach, which uses props, examples, and actions to teach. I believe that people learn best through visual aids and so I use them whenever possible. I also like to keep my students engaged by adding some fun to my lessons, by throwing in jokes and allowing them to participate in activities. I believe that every student is unique and they all need to be taught differently. I also like to add a quiz at the end of every lesson refresh the students memory. Every student has their own preferred learning style and learns at different paces, some learn faster than others and some need more time to learn and understand what is being taught. In my opinion, it is the teacher's responsibility to understand and adapt to the student's needs and preferences and tailor their teaching style to help the student maximize their learning ability.
