Drana Malapane

I’m Drana Malapane, originally from Pretoria, South Africa, and I’m in my late 20s. I’ve always had a passion for education and helping others succeed, which led me to pursue a career in teaching. I have a strong academic background, including a BA in Behavioral Sciences and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education with distinction. I’m currently pursuing an Honors in Applied Psychology, which allows me to better understand and support the unique needs of my students. Outside of work, I enjoy volunteering in my community, participating in sports, and exploring new places through travel. I’m also an avid reader and have a keen interest in marketing. My hobbies help me stay balanced and bring creativity and energy into my teaching. I’m excited about the opportunity to tutor because it combines my love for learning with my passion for helping students achieve their full potential. I’ve been teaching for over four years, primarily at Prosperitus Secondary School in Pretoria, where I’ve been an educator since January 2020. Before that, I gained valuable experience as a student educator at General Smuts High School in Vereeniging. Throughout my career, I’ve developed a strong ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs. In terms of qualifications, I hold several certifications. I have a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), which I completed with distinction, and a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Sciences. I’m also a registered educator with the South African Council for Educators (SACE) and currently pursuing an Honors in Applied Psychology. Additionally, I’ve completed a TEFL certification, which further enhances my ability to teach English effectively. Students can expect engaging and interactive lessons tailored to their individual needs. I focus on making complex concepts easy to understand by using real-life examples and practical applications. My lessons emphasize active participation, critical thinking, and the development of strong foundational skills. I also prioritize creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring new ideas.
