Zahra Abbasi

My name is Zahra, I'm from Iran. I have a PhD  and MA in linguistics and a BA in English language and Literature. I'm a university lecturer, and I love teaching. I have been teaching English and Persian for about 14 years at universities and my own language institute. I am a university lecturer and also run my own language school. Additionally, I am keen to learn other languages myself; I studied French during my undergraduate studies, can speak Turkish, and have been learning German for the past three years. I believe that my experience has given me insight into what is necessary to learn a foreign language. In my classes, learning Persian and English is an exciting journey filled with creativity and collaboration. I believe in fostering an interactive environment where students feel empowered to express themselves. Through dynamic activities like storytelling, role-playing, and group discussions, I encourage learners to dive deep into the nuances of both languages. I incorporate technology and multimedia resources, such as videos and music, to make lessons vibrant and relatable. By connecting language learning to real-life contexts, I help students see the relevance of what they are studying while cultivating a sense of cultural appreciation. My goal is to inspire curiosity and confidence, ensuring that each student not only masters the languages but also enjoys the process of discovery and communication.
