Hi there! My name is Roxanne, and I am excited in, introduce myself as a certified ESL tutor, which means I teach English as a foreign language. I go by the name "Teacher Roxy". I have always had a strong passion for education and believe in the transformative power it has on individuals and communities. As a teacher, one of my primary interests is fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. I strive to create a space where students feel supported and empowered to take risks in their learning journey. Building strong relationships with my students is crucial to me, as it helps me understand their unique needs and tailor my teaching approach accordingly. I have 4 years of teaching experience as a daycare teacher at Smiley kids Johannesburg. I have recently obtained my TEFL certificate and became a certified ESL tutor and I am extremely excited to embark on my new adventure. My teaching methods are focused on educational conversations in an informal and casual manner. This method helps my students become more comfortable and relaxed. My students are my main focus, so I listen attentively and pronounce my words slowly and clearly. I use expressions as this helps my students understand the reaction that the adjective gives when used in a sentence. I use props, flip charts and flash cards to make the lesson productive, engaging,fun and easier for my students to understand. I am relaxed and extremely patient and very passionate about teaching.
