Hello! My name is Rawan Shaheen. I have over 3 years of experience teaching child and teenage students the Arabic languages. Some of my interests include travelling and exploring different cultures. I am also a very social person who enjoys having conversations about a variety of topics. This benefits my ability to encourage my students to have fun conversations while learning new vocabulary and correcting grammatical mistakes. I believe this is an essential aspect of effectively learning a new language. I provide regular feedback and support my students to help them overcome any difficulties they may encounter while learning a new language. I believe that being able to explore yourself in any language is the key of mastering languages, which is something I greatly enjoy facilitating. Being a language tutor is a rewarding experience for me, I enjoy helping others reach their language learning goals.
I am hopeful to see you in my next lesson! :)
I have been teaching kids and teenagers for almost 4 years.
I am a native Arabic speaker born in Alexandria, Egypt. I graduated from the British International schooling system, earning my International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE
I mainly focus on encouraging self-confidence, and push my students be able to express themselves comfortably via free-conversations. As an instructor, I firmly believe in quality vs quantity being very effective and make the quality of learning the focus of my teaching. I have found utilizing the strategy of repetition, repeating phrases many times until it is second-nature for my students, to be extremely effective in their learning. This is essential, giving my students comfortability with the phrases they have learned rather than giving them an overabundance of phrases to memorize. I do my best to encourage and engage my students to make the learning process enjoyable for them.
