  • It can help but it isn't sufficient without any other study method.

  • I guess watching TV while paying attention to the way people communicate, like really trying to learn and grasp as much as you can from the show is always the best approach, but you should choose well what you want to watch depending on the vocabulary you want to develop. A show like Game of Thrones may bring you some vocabulary that could be outdated or archaic in some contexts. Maybe if you want to develop your vocabulary regarding medicine, you could watch series like Grey's Anatomy, House, or E.R.. In case you want to learn more vocabulary that could be applied to law, you should watch Suits or How to Get Away with Murder. I recommend sitcoms for more general English, like Friends, Seinfeld, How I Met Your Mother or Two and A Half Men.

  • I personally don't think learning English through watching series in suitable for the class, I believe it's better for students to watch series and learn English in their own pace and in their own time, not in the class.

  • Yes, that would be helpful for us to learn English.

  • I would use any tool that helps . Netflix is very good as it runs most of its content in multiple languages and subtitles . They can be set independently of each other so you could watch a movie TV show with English sound and your native language subtitles , or the other way round etc
