  • As a tutor who specializes in teaching kids, I use colorful flashcards with pictures and words. This is a great way to introduce new vocabulary and help kids memorize words. I also use games. Kids learn best when they are having fun, so I incorporate games in my lessons as much as possible. I use realia as well. I use real-life objects or situations that can be used to teach language. For example, I might bring in a map and ask my students to describe different countries or landmarks. Or, use food to teach vocabulary related to different types of cuisine. Overall, I believe that a mix of these teaching materials helps keep kids engage and motivated to learn English.

  • Teaching materials alone are not a success factor in a language classroom. The way you put these materials into good use is the key to engaging your students. It’s about the HOW and not the WHAT when it comes to teaching materials.
