Gossip is a discussion between people usually about other people, details about them and/or their actions which are usually not true. Rumors are stories about people or situations that are spreaded, true or not ,and are usually created through gossiping.
"A rumor" is information that is unverified, we don't know if they are true or not. "Gossip" is something that is true.
Gossip refers to talking about someone or something with another person or a group of persons. A rumour refers to spreading specific information about someone or something that has not been verified.
