Well it's either "un truc" or "un chèque" Un truc means "something" Un chèque means "a cheque" I can assist in your French language: grammar, vocabulary, daily expressions ...if you don't mind.

In the Film, it could have been used as slang - the translation will depend on the context of the whole conversation. i think you meant "un chèque" it means "a check" you can use it like this. Je préfère payer par chèque plutôt que par virement. I prefer to pay by check rather than by transfer.

La premiere phrase est au passé compose Celle-ci determine une action qui est deja terminee. Tandis que '' je faisais du shopping '' est a l'imparfait. Ceci montre une action qui en cours dans le passé.
