British for me, but that's my normal accent.
I live in Brazil, and the biggest influence we have from English speaking countries is from the US, I believe. But we should try to become aware of all kinds of accents and not have a favorite. First, because that could be a sort of prejudice, saying or thinking that one accent could be superior to others somehow. There are more non-native English speakers than native speakers of English throughout the world, and the focus should be communication and not an accent. Many of my students have to work in international teams, and the ideal thing would be to try to understand as many different accents as you can, since sometimes you could be in a team with people from Scotland, Russia, India, South American countries, and they all speak in different ways and accents. The more international your English can be (listening and speaking), the better.
Garry - I would prefer to speak an American accent because I am located in United Sates and this is where I did my studies. I am holding a Bachelors and 2 Masters and 2 of which with Honors. Thanks

I think the most important thing to teach or learn is good grammar to construct understandable sentences and good pronunciation of words. Ones accent should not be too much of a concern. I believe you cannot teach an accent it rather develops naturally.
