“Yo tengo sueño” is what I say when I am sleepy. It would directly translate to “I am sleepy”. Another way to say you are sleepy is “Yo estoy cansado” which would more directly translate to “I am exhausted”

Hi I'm from Spain and we say : Estoy frita ( I am fried quite literally what it would be if you were to translate it) which is used when you are tired to the point where you cannot keep your eyes open because of how sleepy you are. Tengo sueño is not as intense as the above. It just means I am yawning because of how tired I am.
